We’re back. The last month has been a busy one. At work, Susie had the end of school chaos to contend with and Robert had three transmitters crash. Robert had quite a few long days. Susie has started looking into going back to school to get a teaching license in special education. She is hoping to get into a program by fall but weeding all the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) requirements is proving to be quiet daunting. She will need to take the PLACE test in July to get accepted.
We did manage to get in some pickin’. Over Memorial Day weekend, we went to the Old Blue Bluegrass Fest in Grand Junction and a couple of weeks later we were in Hotchkiss (Near Delta) for the North Fork Valley Bluegrass Fest. Our friend Diana drove up from Durango and camped with us. We got quite a bit of rain at Hotchkiss but we still managed have a fun jam with 6 of us in the 5th Wheel.
This last weekend Diana and her husband Bert met up with us at the Silverton Jubilee. The drive up and down Red Mountain Pass with the 5th Wheel was quite exciting. It was a good show but we had a lot of rain again. We didn’t get any picking in, it was just too cold and wet.
On our last trip, we noticed that one of the slides on the 5th Wheel was catching on the floor so when we got back we dropped it off for service. We are also using this opportunity to get some of the other warranty work that it needed complete as well as the trim damage that we got when we were side swiped by a truck hauling an ATV trailer last fall. We hope to get it back soon so we can be back on the camping road again.
